Are We Losing Our Collective Senses?

Is it possible that the leading consuming country in the world is on the road to total deafness and blindness? The USA seems to be hellbent on self deception as we become more attached to devices that blank out the sensory world around us. The latest device that is about as small as a bussiness card and can successfully drown out our hearing by flooding our brains with all types of diversionary sounds is becoming a standard attachment to our heads.. The boob tube continues to mummify our thinking abilities with all forms of commercially laden garbage and distractions. We seem to be like a chorus of zombies that sucks up everything but reality, and avoids dealing with the real pin-pricks of life. Are we as a society losing our senses and our desire to face reality? Are we indeed becoming the puppet brigade of politicians and power hungry despots simply because we are losing our ability to use our senses to detect the real world around us? How much longer will it be before Orwell's 1984 becomes a reality that we will be unable to recognize because we have lost our COLLECTVE SENSES? I am afraid that it will be sooner than we think. What do you believe? How do we reverse this collective race to the abyss of zombieland?
