"Tantrumship"--The New Republican Political Tactic

When very young most of us went through a phase of testing authority called tantrum. We unconsiously were demanding attention to get our way. Often the ploy worked as parents did anything to quell our outbreaks of screaming, shouting, crying, and throwing whatever was nearby. Some of us became very adept at getting what we wanted, as submissive parents became conditioned to relent and give in instantly to avoid further chaos. Today in our political arena we are exposed to a rebirth of tantrum tactics by the Republican Party, especially the Republican members of Congress. The election of President Obama seems to have let loose their instinct to use tantrums to get their way. The Congressional Republicans have perfected the art of "Tantrumship" to epochal status. Virtually everything that President Obama supports is uniformly opposed by Congressional Republicans who have unleashed a fine-tuned version of Tantrumship and encouraged public participation by many spurious groups encouraged to oppose any idea proposed by the Obama Administration or the Democratic Congressional majority.

Republican Tantrumship includes screaming down Democratic party speakers who support different actions. Tantrumship is honed to a fine piercing point of belligerance that falls just short of physical violence. The sole purpose is to prevent the opposing viewpont to even be discussed and to stop dialogue. This is their way to get their way, just as many of us did during our "terrible twos". Fortunately most of us grew out of this knee-jerk behavior and learned that there are better ways to moderate difference.

Seems that Congressional Republicans have regressd enmasse and become masters of Tantrumship along with growing numbers of their equally vocal disciples. Isn't it wonderful to witness such constructive behavior displayed by adults witout bibs, who have resurrected the art of "Tantrumship" to solve our contry's problems.
