Overcoming The Republican Bean Ball Pitch

When was the last time you attended a major league baseball game? Maybe it was last year or decades ago. Whenever it may have been you surely remember the 7th inning stretch when everyone in the ball park stood and bellowed out in full discord and joyous disposition:

Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd;
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jack,
I don't care if I never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
If they don't win, it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out,
At the old ball game.

Even if the home team was behind your voice would blast the words into the stadium and echo around the ball park. The 7th inning stretch was an event to celebrate regardless of the score.

Today we are greeted by the bellowing cries of an ex-major league pitcher, Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky, who along with all Republican Senators are engaging in a stand up Senate filibuster to prevent any extension of unemployment benefits to unemployed Americans who have lost their jobs through no fault of theirs. Sen. Jim Bunning and the Republican Party Senate team are deliberately throwing bean balls to extinguish the opposition, one batter at a time. The unemployed Americans represent the batters who are struggling to survive another inning while Bunning and his Republican team mates continue to deliver bean balls to eliminate needy American families one at a time. Bunning and the Republican team of "NO" seems to become more joyful as more Americans are disabled by pitches that are intended to cause more suffering and despair.

However, even ex baseball star Jim Bunning was sometimes a loser during his major league career. He heard boos and felt the agony of defeat. The crowd sometimes gets vocally belligerent if you don't win. Sen. Bunning and the Senate Republicans are certain to lose and America will win when enough Americans stand up and sing together, "Take Me Out to THe Ball Game" with spirit and care for one another. Stand up and take a swing that knocks the ball out of the park for all needy Americans, and overcome the Republican bean ball pitches.
