The U.S. Supreme Court &Senator Russ Feingold

We in Wisconsin are known for cheese and the Packers. We now have another icon who shines above all--Sen. Russ Feingold. When the leaders of both the Republican and Democratic Parties became mute, Senator Feingold stood up for our constitutional liberties and spoke out. Most politicians quivered in the background until it started to become more acceptable to defend our liberties. Now our Supreme Court has said what most politicians feared to say. We cannot ignore the Constitution. George Bush and all other cowardly politicians have been given a wake up call. Sen. Russ Feingold stands out among his peers as the Patrick Henry of our time.

He is emblematic of the people's politician and we should all rally around him as the most qualified candidate for President. He represents all of us, because without the liberties that our Constitution guarantees we are no different than any other dictatorial or communist country. Russ Feingold knows in his heart that we cannot survive as a free country without the protection that our Constitution bestows.

Justification of actions that are contrary to the Constitution tend to erode the liberties that have made our Country great. Becoming more like our enemies does not enhance our stature in the world. Instead we become hypocrites in the eyes of most and bullies in the eyes of all. Liberty requires the resolve to keep your bearings even when the waves are turbulent. Our founders in 1776 knew that basic truth, and Senator Russ Feingold continues to uphold their and our Constitution.

We can retain our leadership in the world by electing a President who understands and supports our fundamental liberties. Sen. Russ Feingold is that person, and our Supreme Court has made that evident.
